Meet: David Seidel

Who I am and what I do

I am the outreach group supervisor and the precollege programs officer at JPL. I rely on my past experience as a former classroom science teacher and planetarium director to help align NASA's aerospace science and technology with classroom curriculum and the National Science Education Standards.

My main responsibility includes supervising outreach team leaders for some of JPL's planetary flight projects and Internet webmasters. I was the mission commentator on NASA TV for the Mars Pathfinder landing and Sojourner rover roll-off. I have been with JPL full time since February 1990. I have a Masters of Science degree in Science Education from the University of Southern California and I'm also a Community Relations Advisory Board Commissioner for the Beverly Hills Unified School District.
